LAHORE: A man was killed allegedly for demanding Rs800 payment for his plumbing work in the Hayer area on Monday.
Police said 35-year-old Karamat Ali of Milliyan village went to Talay village to get his Rs800 remuneration for installing a pump.
The suspect, Sajjad, refused to pay him money and both started exchanging harsh words. Sajjad got enraged, strangled Ali and fled the scene.
Police shifted the body to a morgue for autopsy and registered a murder case against the suspect.
In another incident, a two-year-old girl was stabbed to death in the Bhatti Gate area.
Police said Dua, a daughter of Mahjabin, was living in her maternal grandparents’ house with her mother. Her uncle, Javed Ashfaq, who was also living in the same house slashed her neck with a sharp-edged weapon. The victim was taken to hospital where she was declared dead.
Police shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy and registered a case on the complaint of the child’s mother.
SSP Operations Mustansir Feroze said the suspect had been arrested.
The initial investigation revealed the suspect was mentally challenged and he had confessed to killing the girl for unknown reason.
