RAWALPINDI, Jan 25: An advocate and a legal inspector quarrelled during the hearing of a murder case in the court of the additional sessions judge, Rawalpindi, Chaudhry Siddique Tabassum, on Friday.

Advocate Arshad Tabraiz was pleading the case of the accused, Taimoor Abbas, while the legal inspector, Mohammad Tariq, was representing the state in the court of the additional sessions judge, Rawalpindi when a brawl erupted between them.

Eye-witnesses said both of them suddenly started scuffling with each other on a legal point during the hearing.

The court personnel intervened and took them outside the courtroom. People present in the court started to run in panic as they thought a clash between two rival groups had erupted.

Later, the additional sessions judge, Chaudhry Siddique Tabassum, called both the advocates in his chamber and settled the issue.

Meanwhile, three accused involved in separate murder cases were acquitted by different courts on Friday.

In the first case, Additional Sessions Judge Rawalpindi, Sakhi Mohammad Kahoot acquitted the two accused in a murder case.

According to the prosecution, accused Riaz and Sheraz had murdered Iftikhar in 1998 on a monetary dispute.

The Westridge police booked them in 1998 and registered a murder case against them. The court, in its verdict, acquitted them after a reconciliation was reached between the accused and heirs of the victim.
