Anti-polio drive from today

LAHORE, Nov 21: The Punjab Health Department is launching a three-day anti-polio campaign as part of national immunization campaign from Tuesday. Health Minister Dr Tahir Ali Javed will inaugurate the campaign at the Children’s Hospital in the afternoon.

The district governments will administer polio drops to the under five years of age children.

In Lahore, district nazim Mian Amer will inaugurate the anti-polio campaign at Kot Khwaja Saeed Hospital on Tuesday morning. There are 1.379 million children in Lahore.

The City District Government has constituted 2,432 mobile teams to give drops to the children at their doorstep and set up 78 camps on transit sites like railway station, airport, bus terminals, Lorry Adda etc.

Some 25 roaming teams have also been constituted to give drops to the children in busy areas like the Walled City. Besides, there will be 332 sites, which would continue to work two days more after the three-day drive.
