Quake-hit students to get aid

PESHAWAR, Nov 20: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has directed principals of public sector medical collegesin the province to prepare lists of students affected by the Oct 8 earthquake so that financial support may be provided to them.

The directive was issued at a meeting convened here to sort out ways of providing monetary assistance to earthquake-affected students of the govt-run medical colleges.

Principals of Khyber, Ayub, Saidu and Gomal Medical colleges were present at the meeting. Officials concerned were asked to provide names of deserving students to the Health Department by the end of this month.

The meeting decided that principals and DCOs would verify names of deserving medical students for financial support.
