Ahmed strikes match-winner

LAHORE, Nov 18: A three-goal burst in the last chukker by Ahmed Zubair enabled Equestrian to beat Silver Shadows 6 1/2-4 in the CJ Lysine Cup polo on Friday.

Equestrian, who had a half-goal handicap, were trailing 4-3 1/2 at the start of the fourth chukker.

But Ahmed, who in all scored five goals, changed their fortune with a fine hat trick. Kasim Ahmed Khan was the other scorer.

For the losers, Ahmad Ali Tiwana scored all the four goals.

Four goals by Omar Asjad Malhi and two by Sufi Muhammad Haris helped Welness Pharmaceutical beat Master Paints 7-3 1/2. Ali Malik chipped in with a goal for the winners.

For the losers, who had a half-goal handicap all three goals were scored by Sufi Muhammad Aamir.
