KARACHI, Oct 15: The provincial health department, on Monday, announced to extend the last date for submission of applications for admission to the MBBS and BDS first year classes up to October 17.

Earlier, the department had fixed October 15 as last date for accepting applications at the three medical college selection centres in the province.

An official of the department said that the decision was taken by the health minister in view of the hardships to the applicants.

Students were finding it hard to get their documents finalized within the stipulated period due to the deteriorated law and order situation.

While claiming that the pace of forms submission at Karachi and Larkana centres was satisfactory on Monday morning, the official said that students were disturbed due to transport problems and bank closures.

He informed that there would be no further extension in the date and all other schedules including that for the entrance test would remain unchanged.
