Usman defies Peshawar

LAHORE, Nov 17: A fighting unbeaten century by opener Usman Tariq gave Multan hope of saving the match against defending champions Peshawar after forced to follow-on in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League at the Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar on Thursday.

Replying to Peshawar’s formidable first innings total of 418, Multan were all out for 206 after resuming at 137 for six wickets.

But in the second innings, Multan appeared a different side as Usman dominated the proceedings scoring 119 and helping his team to wipe out the lead scoring 212 for two wickets. Usman hit 19 boundaries off 175 balls.

He received good support from Saeed Anwar Junior (42) and Azhar Shafique (38).
