Fund-raising strategy

LAHORE, Nov 16: The city district government’s Fund Raising Committee will organize charity shows, plays and door-to-door campaigns to collect Rs50 million for relief and rehabilitation of the quake victims. Various options for raising funds for the affected people were discussed at a meeting of the committee held here on Wednesday with Executive District Officer (Community Development) Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas Gondal in chair.

The committee decided to collect funds through the educational institutions and trade associations as well. The fund raising campaign would be organized down to the union council level.

The committee was informed that Rs88,90,600 had been deposited in the City District Government Relief Fund and were being utilised for dispatch of foodstuffs, cots, tents, blankets and utensils to the quake-hit areas.
