LAHORE: The Universal Health Card system will be implemented in Punjab by the end of January next year, claims Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Hasaan Khawar.

The PTI health initiatives are above all political claims and slogans. The incumbent government has ensured justice and equality with all without any political affiliation and brought about reforms in the 70-year-old health system, he says.

Speaking at a ceremony at the Punjab University on Wednesday, he said the government and allies were still on the same page. He said making elections transparent and uncontroversial was a demand of the nation which had been implemented.

The Punjab government spokesperson congratulated the prime minister and the National Assembly speaker on holding the joint session of parliament and welcomed the passing of the bills. He said the government agenda won in the joint session of parliament. He said the hue and cry and reservations of the opposition were meaningless.

He said the journey of electoral reforms had started under the PTI leadership. He said that awarding the voting rights to the overseas Pakistanis was a revolutionary step of the present government which should have been taken long before.

He said the previous governments did not take such steps as they were afraid of the vote bank of the PTI.

He said if Nawaz Sharif was innocent, he should come back to the country and face court cases instead of adopting self-exile.
