LAHORE: Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz met Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi to inquire after ailing PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at a private hospital here on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also telephoned Salik Hussain, son of Chaudhry Shujaat, to inquire after his father.

Hamza also met Salik Husain and prayed for the fast recovery of the senior politician.

“Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain is a senior politician of the country and a very fine man and we pray for his fast recovery,” Hamza told reporters.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif telephoned Salik and inquired after Chaudhry Shujaat.

“Wishing Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, President PML-Q, speedy recovery & good health. Spoke to his son, Ch Salik Hussain, to inquire about his father’s health & well-being,” he said in a tweet.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam also telephoned Mr Salik Hussain and asked about his father’s health. They expressed their concern and prayed for his recovery.
