HYDERABAD: A brawl between two groups of students at the Sindh University on Tuesday left one male student injured and prompted police to intervene and provide escort to point buses.
A scuffle took place while a university officer was trying to settle a dispute between the groups over a complaint by some women students that they were photographed without their consent.
The women also reacted angrily to the alleged misbehabiour by some students, Fayyaz Bhangwar, Sikandar Bhangwar and Liaquat Brohi, belonging to a student organisation. During the scuffle, one student, Daniyal Kaimkhani, was injured and provided first aid at a hospital.
Jamshoro SHO Riaz Malik visited the university and made the rival groups to undertake that they would not resort to provocation any more. He also arranged police escort for point buses. However, one of the buses was pelted with stones by some students, who were chasing it, near filter plant on Jamshoro Road. No one was injured in the attack.
