LARKANA, Nov 15: The in-charge of the women wing of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Larkana city, Ms Alia Rizvi, and 100 workers parted ways with the MQM and joined Pakistan Muslim League (PML) here on Tuesday. At a press conference, she said ‘poor response’ in the aftermath of recent local body polls had forced them to quit MQM.

She said it was because of their relentless efforts that six out of 10 women returned as councillors from different union councils under the flag of the MQM.

She said none of the male candidates of the MQM, fielded in different union councils, got through the local elections in Larkana.

PML sources said she was made president of the PML Larkana while Ms Rozina Chandio, Ms Sadaf and Ms Shabana Chandio were made senior vice-president, president and general secretary of the PML, women wing Larkana, respectively.
