SWABI: Police here have arrested two brothers for killing their father and both have confessed to their crime, district police officer Mohammad Shoaib Khan told mediapersons here the other day.

He said that one Rad Ali registered an FIR about murder of his brother Afsar Khan on Oct 27 in Parmuli police station. He said that two sons of the deceased also attended his funeral.

However, the police got suspicious and arrested Ravaiz Ali and Laiq Zaman, sons of the deceased, soon after end of the three-day mourning.

The DPO said during investigations the two admitted that they had killed their father.

He said that a murder case had been registered against them.

When contacted, Parmuli police said that the cause of the incident was frequent domestic disputes and clashes over trivial issues.

MOU SIGNED: Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology and Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote joint academic, research and development activities of mutual interest in accordance with their respective needs and objectives.

The MoU was inked by GIK Institute rector Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid and QAU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Ali in a ceremony here the other day.

Pro-rector administration and finance Sardar Aminullah and pro-rector academics Prof Dr Waseem Khan of GIK Institute were also present on the occasion.

The two universities also agreed to exchange academic/research information and material, organise lectures and promote collaboration in fields of mutual interest, including academic and joint research activities.
