BAHAWALPUR, Nov 14: A woman was kidnapped from the sessions court premises here on Monday in the presence of police, lawyers and other people. According to eyewitnesses, two people subjected the woman, whose name could not be known, to violence and then bundled her in an auto-rickshaw and fled away. The police and lawyers present there remained silent spectators.

When contacted, Cantonment police told Dawn that no such incident was reported or no one approached for the registration of an FIR.

Later, women lawyers called on the district and sessions judge and apprised him of the incident. They reportedly demanded that security arrangements should be made on the premises and the sanctity of courts protected.
