LAHORE: Three people died of dengue and 494 tested positive during the last 24 hours (Tuesday) in Punjab.
The public health facilities remain overburdened with surge in the dengue cases.
Meanwhile, the King Edward Medical University (KEMU) arranged a session for the tertiary and secondary care public and private hospitals and clinics.
KEMU VC Prof Khalid Masood Gondal threw light on the upward trend in the dengue cases and said it was the need of the hour to bridge the gaps in training. He lauded his faculty and their teams for playing a pivotal role in the Covid-19 and dengue crises.
Prof Bilquis Shabbir spoke about clinical manifestation, disease pathogenesis, complications and warning signs of leak syndrome. She highlighted the Tele-Dengue service under the supervision of the VC KEMU.
The event was organised by the KEMU in collaboration with the health department and the Dengue Expert Advisory Group (DEAG).
