LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has launched RED (reach every door) Covid-19 vaccination campaign for 12 to 18 years’ students in all schools of the province.

Punjab Minister for School Education Murad Raas and Minister for Health Yasmin Rashid inaugurated the students’ vaccination centre at Pilot School, Wahdat Road the other day. Both the ministers reviewed the vaccination process at the centre.

“We have to make the Reach Every Door Campaign a success that is being held from Oct 25 to Nov 15,” said Ms Rashid. She said the target for this campaign was vaccination of 20 million people and 70,000 staff of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department and 4,000 people of School Education Department were rendering services.

She claimed that in the first four days, more than 2.5 million people had been vaccinated and they would vaccinate around five million students in the RED campaign.

She said the fifth wave of the coronavirus pandemic with Epsilon variant had hit the world and more and more people must try to get themselves vaccinated during the present campaign.

Mr Raas said the schools had vaccinated 99 per cent of the teachers in Punjab. “We will try to vaccinate maximum number of students in the 12 to 18 age group,” he said. He appealed to the parents to get their children vaccinated.
