Pakistan has recorded less than 10 daily fatalities from the coronavirus for the second day in a row.

In the last 24 hours, six additional deaths were confirmed compared to nine a day earlier.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 42,096 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of cases has risen to 1,269,806 and the death toll is 28,392.

The positivity rate was recorded as 1.35 per cent.

Deaths have stayed below the 50-mark since Oct 5.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 350 cases
  • Punjab: 136 cases, 2 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 34 cases, 4 deaths
  • Islamabad: 39 cases
  • Balochistan: 8 cases
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 3 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 2 cases
