Chicken prices on rise

KARACHI, Nov 12: Chicken prices continued showing upward trend, rising to Rs86 per kg from Rs80 on November 9. The price chicken meat is ruling at Rs140 per kg from Rs135 a few days back.

The price of chicken was Rs60 per kg, and since then it has risen by Rs26 per kg, while its meat price rose by Rs35 per kg from September 1.

Wholesalers continue maintaining their old stance of rising demand behind the phenomenal jump in prices.

They said the day-old-chick price had surged to Rs27 from Rs24 on November 9, as against the actual cost of Rs10-12.
