RAWALPINDI: Robbers struck at nine places on Saturday in the garrison city depriving people of cash and valuables.

Ikhlaq Ahmed, a resident of Naseerabad, reported to police that robbers deprived him of his mobile phone worth Rs25,000.

Raja Mehboob Khan told police that he was on his way to Bilal Mosque in Chaklala for offering Fajr prayer when two armed men came on a motorcycle and took him at gunpoint and deprived him of cash and escaped.

Sheikh Alam Zaib, a bakery owner, complained to the police that two persons entered inside his bakery while another one remained guarding them at the entrance gate. He said he was taken at gunpoint by the two who and snatched Rs175,000 from him and later escaped.

Mohammad Ishfaq, a resident of Rehbar colony Taxila, complained to the police that he was on way to home with his wife on motorcycle when two motorcycle riders intercepted them and snatched gold bangles, earrings and mobile phones.

He said the value of the loot was Rs110,000 and mobile phones worth Rs21,800. In another similar incident, Qasir Islam’s sister was robbed of gold jewellery, Rs10,000 and mobile phone. The value of the gold jewellery was estimated at Rs108,0000 and mobile phone worth Rs20,000.

Tariq Ahsan, a resident of D-18, complained to the police that four robbers forcibly entered his house and held his family at gunpoint. He said he and his wife and children were held at gunpoint by the robbers who snatched gold jewellery from his wife.

In addition to gold jewellery, the robbers also snatched Rs200,000, LED and three mobile phones. The value of the loot was Rs8,80,000.

Amanullah was robbed of Rs130,000 by two motorcycle riders in Mandra area while Faisal Yasin’s family was robbed of cash Rs615000, gold jewellery worth Rs850,000 and other valuables.
