LAHORE: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan has approved issuance of licence for clinical trial and bio-equivalence study to the Pakistan Drug Testing and Research Center, Lahore, a subsidiary of the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC).

The PDTRC has now increased its efficiency and capacity in testing the quality and effectiveness of medicines. Earlier, various drug tests were conducted at the PDTRC, but now medicines from international and local companies can also be compared and tested.

“Approval of the federal government to provide bio-equivalence facility in the PDTRC is a very important decision. This will enable pharmaceutical companies to get the required facility at the PDTRC instead of getting expensive tests conducted from abroad,” said PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi in a press release.

He further said that PDTRC had been equipped with modern and international standard facilities and it had already got a status of WHO Certified Lab.
