LAKKI MARWAT: The police on Saturday claimed to have recovered a resident of the North Waziristan tribal district from the captivity of his kidnappers during a raid in Manjakhel area of Bannu.

After receiving information that a man had been detained at a house in the rural locality, district police officer Imran Shahid tasked sub-divisional police officer (rural) Rizwan Khan with securing the safe release of the abducted man, said an official.

He said a police team raided the house and recovered the man identified as Hamid Khan, a resident of Dattakhel.

Hamid told the police that Shahid Noor, Abdul Jabbar, Riaz and Rukh Niaz had kidnapped him from New Adda on Oct 13.

He said the kidnappers snatched two mobile phones from him and took him to a house in Manjakhel and detained him there.

The official said a case had been registered against the kidnappers and efforts were underway to arrest them.
