KARACHI: Eight horses are in contention for the KRC Sprinter’s Cup, which features prominently in a five-race card, in the Gymkhana race meeting being held at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The KRC Sprinter’s Cup to be contested by three and four year olds and above thoroughbred and half-bred horses is the fifth and concluding race of the day and will go over five furlongs.

The contestants include two debutant colts Churchill and Warrior’s Call.

Another horse that will make his debut in the fourth race is bay colt Thunder Crown, stable-mate of fancied pair of Thunder Star and Thunder Snow.

A field of nine horses will vie for honours in the fourth and supporting race to be run over four-and-a-half furlongs.

Half-a-dozen horses will face the starter in the opening race which will take place over four furlongs.

The second and third race will see eight and 10 horses respectively displaying their skills.

The first race starts at 2:30pm.
