LAHORE, Oct 15: An accountability court on Monday remanded former MPA Shahnawaz Ranjha in judicial custody till Oct 25.

The court directed the prosecution to submit a final reference on the next date of hearing.

The former MPA is accused of acquiring assets disproportionate to his known income. The prosecution had sought more time on the last date of hearing to investigate the case on the basis of some new evidence, it claimed, it had come across.

ZARDARI: A court continued recording prosecution evidence in a case against former MNA from Lahore Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali. It recorded statements of three prosecution witnesses during the day. They were a record keeper, Mushtaq Ahmad, a judicial magistrate, Muhammad Ilyas, and an excise and taxation officer, Muhammad Hashim. Further proceedings will be held on Oct 23.

The former MNA is accused of acquiring assets disproportionate to his known income.
