KARACHI, Nov 10: Fast medium bowler Riaz Afridi was named as the Performer of the Year for Pakistan domestic cricket season 2004-2005. Riaz, who hails from Peshawar was declared the winner of the award at a launch of the new domestic cricket season here on Thursday.

Strongly built Riaz was member of the Pakistan Junior team which won the World Cup at Dhaka in 2003.

He has so far taken 73 first class wickets.

As Riaz is playing in on-going Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Trophy his award was received by a representative of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 100,000.—APP
