NA body wants uniform number plates throughout country

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence Production on Tuesday unanimously recommended uniform number plates of all vehicles in the country and National Radio Telecommunication Corporation should manufacture them.

These directions came during a visit to NRTC by members where they witnessed the manufacturing of the number plates.

NRTC Managing Director retired Brig Imran Gul informed the members that the facility was manufacturing number plates of vehicles that have six types of security features, which could not be duplicated.

Members were informed that NRTC’s vision was to provide the value-added systems, solutions and services achieving six sigma qualities in the processes for customers worldwide.

He apprised the members that NRTC was a major organisation in the industry promoting the telecommunication and information technology equipments in the country. NRTC was committed to sustainability and continued to support the armed forces, public and private sectors including various international clients.

He informed the members that the strategy and policies of the corporation underlined the unique contribution of the products and services in facing the security and technological challenges in the country.

The committee, which was headed by MNA Chaudhry Iftekhar Nazir, was informed that NRTC was providing top of the range telecommunications equipment to the customers that met all their operational needs in a timely and affordable manner.

NRTC goal was to provide the right business growth services at appropriate time for the companies to benefit from the created momentum and thrived for a long period of time, claimed NRTC MD.

Imran Gul further informed the committee that the NRTC had indigenously made drones that would be used to spray insecticides and pesticides on fields. NRTC had participated and exhibited applications, inventions, solutions, and technologies developed in post-Covid-19 scenario.

The committee unanimously recommended that the number plates of all vehicles in the country be made uniform and NRTC should manufacture all these number plates.

Later, the committee visited various departments of NRTC where the Managing Director NRTC retired Imran Gul also briefed regarding different commercial products of the corporation.
