RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad arrested two officials of its Anti-Terrorism Wing on the charge of facilitating a suspect during a remand custody.

The FIA said a case had been registered against the two employees for facilitating and providing internet and laptop to the suspect.

The FIA Islamabad said head constables Ehtesham and Farman Ayaz assisted Hafiz Asghar who was detained for an investigation on the charge of concealing a cryptocurrency account.

The employees allegedly provided him a laptop and internet facility while on duty and assisted him in trying to hide the account.

They also helped the suspect in changing the passwords and transfer the money to another account.

A deputy director of the wing conducted an inquiry and found the FIA employees guilty.
