FAISALABAD, Nov 10: District Nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef has said that a master plan will be announced soon for provision of gas facility to each and every house of the district.

Speaking to the participants of a function arranged in his honour by PPP district president ex-MPA Rana Farooq Saeed Khan in Samundri on Thursday, he said meetings with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited officials were being held to this effect.

The district nazim said development funds would be spent in both rural and urban areas without any discrimination.

He said steps would be taken to beautify the city areas and towns, including Samundri, Jaranwala, Tandlianwala and Chak Jhumra.

He said a plan for the modernization of Lyallpur, Jinnah, Iqbal and Madina towns was being finalized.

Mr Tauseef said being an old resident of the district, he was aware of the problems being confronted by the people and had a vision to solve them.

He said basic amenities would be provided to people at their door step with the consultation of elected councillors and political leaders.

The nazim assured that development funds would be spent in a transparent manner and none would be allowed to misappropriate even a single penny from public funds.

He said progress on public welfare schemes would be monitored not only by government officials, but the elected representatives would also be deputed for this purpose.

International development agencies and other organizations would be approached to provide funds for public welfare projects in the district, he added.

The nazim said special instructions had been issued to the education department officials for provision of better facilities to students of far-flung areas.
