HYDERABAD, Nov 10: The convocation of the University of Sindh will be held on Dec 12 at the Allama I. I. Kazi campus in Jamshoro. The governor, who is the chancellor of universities of Sindh, will preside over the convocation. He will confer degrees on candidates and award medals to meritorious students.

According to an announcement by the controller of examinations of the university, candidates who have passed their examinations as regular students up to 2004 and candidates who have passed their examinations as regular external candidates up to 2004 from affiliated degree colleges of the university can apply to receive their degrees at the convocation.

The controller further announced that candidates who had passed their examinations in various disciplines from private affiliated colleges of the university up to 2004 could also apply for receiving degrees and medals at the convocation.

The examinations department has set up separate counters at the administration block at the Allama I. I. Kazi campus to receive applications.

Candidates have been advised to submit applications on plain paper and also mention names of parents who will accompany them in the convocation ceremony.

The last date for submitting applications has been fixed at Nov 25.

Candidates who wish to receive degrees in the convocation have been advised to deposit Rs1,000 as convocation fee at the Habib bank Limited, Jamshoro branch, for award of degree and Rs500 for silver medal. They have also been advised to attach one photocopy each of marks and pass certificates, NIC, and two attested copies of photographs along with applications.

Candidates who have already obtained their degrees but wish to receive the same at the convocation, may return their degrees and other relevant documents to the office of the controller of examinations and submit Rs500.

MUET: The convocation of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology will be held on Dec 21.

The Sindh governor will preside over the convocation.

Graduates and postgraduates of the university and affiliated colleges desiring to get their degrees at the convocation have been advised to apply on prescribed form by Nov 26.
