PESHAWAR, Jan 24: NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi won All Pakistan Declamation Contest, concluded on Thursday here at Peshawar University.
Students from different universities and colleges— government and private— took part in the two-day speech contest which was organised by Khyber Literary Society, Peshawar University.
Individually, in the English speech the NED stood first and Urdu it bagged second position, and won the trophy.
In Urdu speech, among individuals, Nasir Baloch of Government SE College Bhawalpur won the first prize. S M Danish of NED university and Mubashir of Edwards College Peshawar grabbed second and third prizes respectively.
In English, among individuals, Faraz Ali of NED stood first while Asim Hamid of Edwards College Peshawar and Miss Zeenat Khan of Frontier Girls College Peshawar bagged second and third positions respectively.
Miss Zainab Shah of Amina Degree College Peshawar and Abdul Maeez from UET Peshawar were given special prizes.
NWFP Minister for Education Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed trophies and certificates among the winners.
