LAHORE: Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) president retired Lt Gen Syed Arif Hasan says that he is ready to move the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to ensure the timely issuance of visas to Pakistan hockey team to participate in the Junior World Cup being held in Bhubaneswar from Nov 25.

When Dawn contacted Arif and asked if the POA would be willing to play a role for the PHF, which the association had already done for the national shooting team, which faced the same Indian visa problems some two years ago, and the IOC gave a big ruling against India, the POA president said: “Why not; the POA is ready to talk to the IOC but first of all the PHF should contact, show its willingness and ask [the POA] to play a role.”
