PESHAWAR: The provincial capital reported 163 new cases of dengue during the last 24 hours, a health department report said on Tuesday.

It also said 32 cases of dengue were reported from other districts of the province, and a total of 50 patients were under treatment in various hospitals.

The report said the health department after receiving reports of spread of dengue in different areas of the Peshawar district collected water samples and conducted tests. It said 45 patients were reported only in Achini area.

Fourteen cases were reported from Sufaid Dheri, 11 each from Charsadda Road and Danish Abad, 10 from Canal Road, nine from Tehkal Bala, seven from Academy Town, six from Khazana Dheri, five from Northern Bypass, nine from Board Bazaar, five from Baghban Camp, three each from Palosai and Lalazar Colony and two each from Ring Road and Phandu area.
