The good effects of reading books

This is with reference to the story “The good effects of reading books” by Adeeba Khan (YW, August 28). I read the story in one go and enjoyed it a lot. The story was impressive, especially the way the writer put his thoughts into words and gave the message to the young generation to invest time in a productive way.

Hold your tongue

This is with reference to the article “Hold your tongue” by Zainab Juzer (YW, September 4). The article brilliantly described the power of words. We must remember that if we are speaking with someone, we must choose the best words since words have the power to break or make a person.

Moreover, it is rightly said that words break relationships and leave you with regret for life. So, I would advice my fellow readers to always speak politely and choose the best possible words. This leaves a good impression on others forever and your relationships with your family and friends will always remain strong.

The disastrous world of the smartphone

This is regarding the article, “The disastrous world of the smartphone” by Aqsa Wazeer (YW, September 4). It was not only a great advice, but also a great lesson for all youngsters and adults.

The article made me realise how badly I was hooked to my mobile phone and sadly, once I even forgot to give medicine to my mother because I was so absorbed in using my smartphone.

Youngsters think that they use the smartphone for a quick search, for the calculator or the dictionary.

However, the reality is that they get hooked to the screen after that. Therefore, it is better not to keep the mobile phone close to oneself, especially when studying.

Story time

I am an earnest reader of Young World magazine. Every Saturday morning, I wait eagerly for the hawker to drop Dawn on our door so that I can get my favourite magazine to read.

The content published in the magazine is always interesting and informative, and it often boosts my mood and provides useful tips.

One of the best sections of the YW is “Story time”. I love this section very much and always read it before all the other sections. I am really thankful to Dawn for providing such a useful learning platform like Young World to kids.
