LOWER DIR: A number of students staged a rally here the other day against the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand, for what they said awarding them less marks in the secondary and higher secondary school certificate examinations.

The protesters, carrying placards, blocked the Chakdara-Dir Road for some time and chanted slogans against the board authorities. They demanded that the board authorities recheck the papers and ensure fair marking.

The protesting students opened the road after assistant commissioner, Adenzai, Abbas Afridi held talks with them.

Meanwhile, talking to Dawn, Malakand BISE chairman Prof Zameen Gul said that all the students had been awarded marks according to their performance.

He said the complainants should properly apply for either rechecking of papers or re-totalling of marks.
