HSC-II exams from Nov 14

SUKKUR, Nov 8: Supplementary HSC-II examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sukkur, will start from Nov 14. According to the controller of examinations, candidates of the Ghotki district will appear for examinations at the Government Degree College, Mirpur Mathelo, candidates of the Naushahro Feroze district at the Government Degree College, Naushahro Feroze, boy candidates of the Khairpur district at the Government Superior Science College, Khairpur, girl candidates of the district at the Government College for Women, Khairpur, boy candidates of the Sukkur district at the Government Degree College, Sukkur, and girl candidates at the Government Girls’ Degree College, Sukkur.

KILLED: A bandit was killed in an exchange of fire between bandits and villagers in the Tangwani police station jurisdiction on Monday night.

The bandits barged into the house of Jaffer Khan Mari, at gunpoint overpowered family members, looted households and unfastened cattlehead. However, while they were fleeing, the family members raised shouts for help and area residents arrived there. An exchange of fire took place in which bandit Baboo alias Mohammad Salah, 20, was killed. His accomplices escaped, leaving behind the looted households and cattlehead.

Later, police reached the place and recovered a Kalashnikov and a magazine from the killed bandit. However, no case was registered till the filing of this report.

ZAKAT: Sukkur District Zakat and Ushr Committee chairman Hafiz Mohammad Ismail Jatoi has said Rs1,243,000 of ‘Eid additional guzara allowance’ has been released and transferred to accounts of chairmen of local Zakat committees of the district for distribution among deserving people.

The deserving people would be paid Rs500 each.

DEMOLISHED: A two-room accommodation on a plot of Eidgah was demolished by people.

The people demolished the accommodation after Imam Sahib Maulana Asad Thanvi in his speech before the Eid prayer said a man belonging to the army had encroached the plot of Eidgah. He said when the authorities were contacted, they said they were helpless.

Later, Imam Bux Khoso lodged an FIR at the Sukkur C-section police station, stating that the plot did not belong to Eidgah and it could be proved from the revenue and municipal record.
