KARACHI: The Sindh government on Sunday directed commissioners of Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana and Shaheed Benazirabad (formerly Nawabshah] to ensure implementation of ‘obligatory vaccination regime’ in different segments of transport sector as per the policy communicated by the National Command & Control Centre (NCOC).

In a letter, the commissioners have been asked to ensure a focused drive by their respective district administrations.

The drive is aimed at covering public transport crews on motorways, trains, buses, coasters, taxis, home delivery riders, facilities operating at railway stations, bus stops, taxi stands and other public transport termini.

The commissioners have been directed to take measures like sealing the transport services, terminals and stands of public transport means and impounding the vehicles in case of violation of the obligatory vaccination regime.

The NCOC has notified the cut-off dates for the vaccination drive.
