LAHORE: The two police constables allegedly involved in “street crime” were suspended from service here on Friday.

Action was taken against constables Mohsin and Kalab Khan of Bhatti Gate police station.

A police official said the two policemen had snatched Rs5,000 from a youngster Hassan Ali.

He said Hassan made a call on 15 and a police team led by sub inspector Mansoor reached the crime scene.

The police took Hassan to the police station for an inquiry where he raised an alarm on finding the two “suspects” in police uniform who had deprived him of the amount.

The constables returned money to the young man on the directions of the station house officer.

Later, the City Division SP suspended the both constables from service when matter was brought into his notice by the SHO. Further departmental action has also been initiated against them.
