ISLAMABAD: A man was shot and injured by gunmen during a robbery.

In the first incident, robbers shot and injured a man during a robbery in E-11, police said, adding that Asad Khan, 28, along with his younger brother Muzamil Khan, 11, travelled to E-11/4 on a motorcycle to fetch water from an electric cooler installed there.

Two people, armed with weapons, intercepted them when they were returning home to Golra.

The suspects held them up at gunpoint and asked the brothers to hand over cash and valuables.

Asad put up resistance which resulted into a scuffle between him and one of the robbers, they said, adding that the other robber shot Asad and escaped.

Both robbers escaped towards E-11/3, the police said, adding after getting information about the incident from Muzamil, Sajid Mehmmod, father of the two, reached there and the injured was shifted to the hospital.

The robbers, according to police seemed to be between the ages of 25 and 30 years.
