LAHORE: Punjab reported 1,705 new Covid-19 cases and 36 more deaths over the last 24 hours.

The provincial tally of cases has risen to 410,463 and the death toll has increased to 12,171. In the last 24 hours, nine deaths were reported in Lahore whereas 36 deaths were reported in Punjab. As many as 672 new cases were reported in Lahore, 203 in Rawalpindi, 120 in Faisalabad, 94 in Multan, 85 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 65 in Sargodha, 57 in Bahawalpur, 42 in Khushab, 38 in Khanewal, 31 in Bhakkar, 30 in Rahim Yar Khan, 24 in Sheikhupura, 23 in Sahiwal, 22 in Muzaffargarh, 21 in Gujranwala, 20 in Sialkot and Toba Tek Singh, 19 in Layyah, 17 in Kasur, 14 in Jhang, 13 in Gujrat, 11 in Rajanpur, 10 in Okara , nine in Mianwali, seven in Bahawalnagar, Chakwal and Vehari each, six in Mandi Bahauddin, five in Hafizabad, Narowal, Attock and Jhelum each.

During the last 24 hours, 22,966 tests were conducted. The overall positive rate of corona was recorded at 7.4pc across the province while the provincial capital Lahore recorded a positive rate of 12pc, Rawalpindi 15pc, Faisalabad 9pc, Multan 6pc and in Gujranwala 4pc.
