Clarification

KARACHI, Nov 7: With reference to a news item appearing in the issue dated Nov 3 about ATM transactions’ failure, MCB in a press release has clarified that its entire ATM network was operational across Pakistan on November 2. However, there were isolated incidents of ATM transaction failures due to phone lines and connectivity issues beyond the bank’s control. The press release points out that a total of over 202,000 cash transactions were carried out at different MCB ATMs in just five days from Nov 2 to Nov 6, dispensing over Rs754 million. MCB has more than 225 ATMs in 41 cities.
