PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued call-up letters to the officials of the Institute of Kidney Disease (IKD) Peshawar in connection with an inquiry into allegations of corruption in procurement of medical equipment.

In a letter addressed to the institute’s director, the accountability body stated that it had taken cognizance of an offence allegedly committed by the officers and officials of the institute in the purchase of several clinical items for the facility from 2017 to 2020.

The letter asked the IKD director to direct the concerned people to appear before the combined investigation team along with the relevant record on Aug 31.

NAB also directed the institute to ensure the accuracy of the submitted documents.
