LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar says the current circumstances in the country do not warrant politics of chaos and anarchy and asserts that the government will further accelerate its agenda of public service without caring for criticism.
The chief minister was speaking during a meeting with Federal Minister for Water Resources Chaudhry Moonis Elahi, who called on him at his office on Saturday.
“The PML-Q is its ally and both are enjoying the best working relationship,” he said.
The chief minister said a separate development package for each district had been devised in due consultation with the elected representatives.
“This district development package of Rs360 billion will ensure the composite development of all districts of the province,” he said.
Mr Elahi said the PML-Q would continue to work together with the government for providing more facilities to the people as public service was the coalition government’s agenda.
EU-PAKISTAN: A delegation led by EU-Pakistan Friendship Federation Chairman Pervez Iqbal Losar called on the chief minister at his office and discussed the issues of expatriates.
They condemned the atrocities and violations of human rights by the Indian Army in occupied Jammu & Kashmir.Mr Buzdar said overseas Pakistanis were national asset as they had always come forward to help the country in hard times.
He said the Overseas Pakistanis Commission had been transformed into a vibrant institute as solving problems of expatriates was government’s responsibility.
He assured that the Punjab government was ensuring protection of the rights and property of Overseas Pakistanis.
MULTAN AIRPORT: The chief minister held a meeting with top officials of Multan district at Multan airport lounge and was briefed about the law and order situation as well as progress on development projects.
Buzdar directed to complete all ongoing development projects in Multan within the stipulated timeframe adding that special attention should be paid on the quality of work.
The chief minister stressed that the officers should go in the fields and personally inspect the pace and standard of the projects and asked them to submit a monthly progress report.
“Delays in development projects will not be tolerated,” he warned.
APPOINTED: The Punjab government has appointed party worker Saeed Ahmad Bhali as special coordinator to chief minister.
