GUJRAT: A 26-year-old woman was shot dead within two weeks of her marriage as she was the second wife of an expatriate Pakistani settled in England and the heirs of man’s first wife allegedly killed her at Dhoop Sarri village in Dinga police precincts on Friday.

Reports said Mubashar Ali Khan [settled abroad] had married Uzma around 18 years ago and the couple had seven children. Khan’s wife had developed some differences with him and she went to her parents’ home.

Mubashar contracted a second marriage with Rubina (26) of the same village on Aug 13 which infuriated the parents of his first wife. Her father Aslam along with other members of the family allegedly gunned down Rubina in the compound of the house.

The suspects fled the scene and police handed over the body to heirs after autopsy at Kharian THQ hospital.

Police have registered a case against six nominated suspects, including two women, and two unidentified men under sections 302, 109, 148 and 149 of PPC on the report of Mubashar. No arrest could he made so far in the case.

In another incident, Iftikhar (42) was axed to death by unidentified men when he was alone at his house at Kotli Shah Jahanian village in Saddar Lalamusa police precincts.

Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects.
