Teachers sought for tent village

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 3: The NWFP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Sardar Moham-mad Idrees, has directed the Abbottabad district administration to arrange regular paid teachers and doctors for the tent village established by the government at Banda Sahib Khan near Havelian.

During his visit to a temporary village, the minister asked the departments concerned to accelerate the pace of work for installation of more tents and on the sanitation, water supply and electrification schemes initiated by the government on an emergency basis to facilitate those affected by the October 8 earthquake.

Sardar Idrees inspected the construction work and other arrangements in the village and distributed toys and other gifts among children at a tent school being run in collaboration with non-government organization Lok Sudhar.

Provincial Revenue Minister Maulana Asmatullah, Abbottabad Tehsil Nazim Saifullah Khan Jadoon, District Coordination Officer Munir Azam, officers of departments concerned, representatives of NGOs and nazims of various union councils were also present.—APP
