Russia has recorded its highest daily coronavirus death toll as the country struggles with the aggressive Delta variant and slowing vaccination rates.
A government tally reported 820 fatalities over the past 24 hours and 19,630 new cases, according to AFP.
The new figures bring Russia's total fatalities from Covid-19 to 179,243 — the highest toll in Europe.
In total, Russia has so far registered 6,824,540 cases.
