GILGIT: Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, Gilgit-Baltistan chapter, on Wednesday accused the National Accountability Bureau of harassing the filling station owners in the region.

They warned to shut the pumps if NAB officials continued to ‘create’ difficulties for them.

Addressing a press conference in Gilgit on Wednesday, the association’s regional president Malik Jehangir, vice-president Altaf and others said following the last year’s fuel crisis in the country Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered NAB to conduct an inquiry.

They said the association’s members fully cooperated with NAB officials during the course of the inquiry and provided them with all the record of the oil tankers supplying oil products to their filling stations.

However, they said the NAB officials declared the documents fake and started harassing them.

They said since these documents were provided to them by the oil and tracker companies, the anti-graft watchdog should determine their authenticity from these firms.

They, however, declared that authenticity of such documents could not be questioned as Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority officials also checked such record from time to time.

They demanded of Prime Minister Imran Khan to stop NAB officials from harassing them.
