SAHIWAL: Two brothers were killed and seven people, including three girls and four boys all below 18, sustained critical injuries when two rival groups traded fire over a piece of disputed land in Abadi Maniyain Wala, near Meraan Shah, on Friday.

Police said two groups led by Sikandar and Nawaz had been at daggers drawn over the possession of land since long.

Noorshah police rushed to the scene and cordon off the entire village.

Rescue 1122 said Adnan, 20, and Husnain, 23, died on the spot while Nawaz, Rukhsana, Mazhar, Ali Hasan, Fatima, Sabtain and Rehana sustained injuries.

Killed: A bakery owner, Azhar Iqba, was shot dead by two dacoits on Noorshah Road between the night of Thursday and Friday.
