FC soldier martyred in clash with terrorists in Balochistan's Loralai district

QUETTA: A Frontier Corps soldier was martyred and three suspected terrorists were killed in a heavy exchange of fire in the coalmine field area of Shahrig in Loralai district.

Two other soldiers, including an officer, suffered injuries in the gun battle.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media affairs wing of the military, said on Saturday that a vehicle of the FC was attacked by armed terrorists when it was passing through the Shahrig area.

Three suspects killed in exchange of fire

The FC personnel immediately responded and returned fire and a gunfight ensued.

“Three terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire while a soldier of the FC embraced shahadat,” the ISPR statement said, adding that an officer, identified as Major Qasim, and a soldier were injured in the fighting.

Naik Sharif was martyred during the gun battle. The injured and the body were brought to the Combined Military Hospital, Quetta.
