Closed schools to be made functional

LARKANA, Nov 1: District Nazim Mohammad Bakhsh Arijo has asked education officers to make maximum number of closed schools functional in the district and monitor distribution of school management committees’ funds.

Presiding over a meeting in this context on Tuesday, he stressed the need for coordination among officers of primary, secondary and college sections of the education department.

He also emphasized the need for improving the quality of education.

The meeting was told that the number of shelter-less schools in the district had increased to 362.

The meeting also discussed the issue of deputation of teachers.

The EDO, education, Mohammad Azam Memon, told Dawn that 90 primary and secondary schools were lying closed in the district and the department was mobilising resources to make them functional as soon as possible.

However, sources in the education department said on Tuesday that 102 schools were lying closed.
