LOWER DIR: Pakistan People’s Party divisional president and former provincial minister Bakht Baidar Khan on Monday demanded of the government to take notice of the difficulties faced by the overseas Pakistanis and resolve their issues.

Speaking at a news conference at Chakdara Press Club along with representatives of travel and recruiting agencies, he said that overseas Pakistanis had been facing a number of problems regarding their travelling abroad.

The PPP leader alleged that owing to weak foreign policy of the government, the business of travel agents and recruiting agencies was affected badly and thousands of youth associated with the business were rendered jobless.

He said that overseas Pakistanis were travelling to Gulf States from Afghanistan, Malaysia and central Asian states.

He said that Pakistanis in Malaysia had been waiting to come back for the last one and a half years while the government did nothing for them.

MEETING: The Ouch Amn Committee, a body of elders working for maintenance of law and order in the area, on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the growing incidents of robbery and lawlessness in the area.

A meeting of the committee was held at Ouch TB Centre that was attended by PML-N provincial senior vice president Barrister Attaullah Khan, district president of Pakistan Rah-i-Haq Party Maulana Ubaidullah Anwar, ANP’s Khalid Khan Yousafzai, JUI-F’s Shahid Khan, Ouch SHO Habib Shah and others.

The meeting was informed that several incidents of robbery were recently reported in the area. The participants said that it was the responsibility of the district administration and police to maintain law and order.

JI: Jamaat-i-Islami parliamentary leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Inayatullah Khan has demanded the provincial and federal governments to release funds for development projects in Lower Dir, set up separate vaccination centres for overseas Pakistanis and take notice of the miseries being faced by Pakistanis travelling abroad from other countries.

Addressing a youth convention in Chakdara and rallies at other places the other day, he claimed that JI had planned to bring about a real change in the country with the help of youth.
