KARACHI, Nov 1: Three ships carrying containers, chemicals and sugar were allotted berths at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. In the meantime, two more ships with edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 56 per cent as six ships, Sealand Freedom, Yanaseni, Evropi, Capt. P. Egglezos, Al-Marwah and Tina Da, were busy in loading and unloading containers chemicals, sugar and wheat.

Sailing was slow as only Al-Marwah left the port while Yanaseni was due to depart. Four ships, Deila, Chem Lily, Olympic Sprit and Global Pallas, were expected to take berths.

A container ship, Nedlloyed Cobra, was due to arrive on Wednesday.
